Tmirjan

Biology

Only a small amount is known about Tmirjan physiology as they are reluctant to submit to study. Only a few have even been seen as they are highly elusive. These individuals were mo more than 2 meters tall adn humanoid in shape but with 'pointed' features. Given the dynamics of their ships they must also be able to withstand intense forces.

PSI

The Tmirjan appear to be immune to all forms of psychic scans and are not affected by telekinetic weapons fielded by the Vaipen. There are no records of Tmirjan ever displaying any psychic ability.

Background

The Tmirjan are more commonly known by their nickname, Skimmers, which was given to them by an Earth craft on a deepspace mission towards the outer galactic rim. All the major races have encountered the Tmirjan craft and they appear to be able to turn up in hyperspace or normal space without emitting any energy from jump engines. They have the ability to dissappear from both normal space and hyperspace but where they go is unknown. It has been concluded by most scientists that they are using a technology completely different from all the known races. The Tmirjan craft appear to be unaffected by gravitational fields and have been known to change course faster even than the ships of the Korhonen: their craft do not conform to Newtonian physics. Tmirjan craft appear similar to the 'flying saucers' reported in the mid/ late 20th century (some of which have been identified as Korhonen vessels) and seem to be equipped with a device which prevents scanning with conventional or psychic scanners.

No power output has ever been detected except when they were operating under extreme conditions when small amounts of neutrinos have been emitted. The Tmirjan craft are also lightly armed with what seem to be low power plasma beams. It's located just below the top dome of the craft and fires a low energy beam towards any chosen target. The range of this beam is quite low but it can rotate a full 360 degrees around the dome and the speed and agility of the craft seem to make up for the lack of offensive capability. Normal weaponry appears to be completely useless against them; tracking systems do not detect them and direct hits cause no damage. There have been reports of Tmirjan craft following Vaipen Hiveships firing ineffectually against the outer skin of the Hiveship. If the Hiveship turns to open fire with one of it's array of bio-weapons the Tmirjan vessel disappears, only to reappear in a different place!

When asked about the Tmirjan, the opinions of the other races differ wildly. The Elarien treat them as a figment of their imagination. The Denan, in a characteristic display of Denan bravado, claim to have destroyed one and used it's technology (proved untrue) The Vaipen refuse to answer when asked about them and the Ovaska tend to become highly agitated, calling them 'annoying, irritating pests'. What little has been found out about the Tmirjan appears to indicate that they did not originate from this dimension, rather they migrated here at some point in the distant past

Notes

This race is largely regarded as harmless. If you encounter one it is best to ignore it as none have ever been reported to have caused damage to any craft unless provoked.
